Why Google Maps decides who gets the call
When someone nearby searches for a service, Google shows a map and three business listings above the ordinary results. That block, the local 3-pack, collects a large share of calls, direction requests and walk-ins because it answers the search immediately: what is near me, is it open, is it any good. If your business isn't in it, a competitor a few streets away is.
Google describes local ranking as a mix of three things: relevance (does your profile match what was searched), distance (how close you are to the searcher) and prominence (how well known and trusted you are). You can't move your shop, so the work is relevance and prominence: a complete, accurate Business Profile, plus the reviews, mentions and website signals that prove you are the real thing.
I manage 16 Business Profiles around Noida and Greater Noida, from print shops and gyms to a dental clinic and a florist. Together they have passed 44,000 profile views, and you can see the numbers profile by profile in the Maps results tab of my portfolio.
What I actually do on your Business Profile
A profile that ranks is a profile that has been finished properly, then kept alive. My checklist:
- Choose the most specific primary category and a short list of secondary ones, because the primary category carries a lot of weight.
- Write services, products and descriptions around the phrases customers really search, such as “printout shop near me” or “dentist near me”, without stuffing.
- Make your name, address and phone number identical to your website and every directory.
- Add real photos, opening hours, attributes and holiday timings, and keep them current.
- Publish regular posts and answer questions in the Q&A section.
- Build a steady flow of genuine reviews and reply to every one.
Citations, reviews and a website that backs it up
A profile ranks better when the rest of the web agrees with it. I build consistent listings on relevant directories (citations) and clean up duplicates or old addresses that confuse Google.
Reviews are the other big lever. I set up a simple request routine, such as a QR code or a WhatsApp message after the sale, so happy customers actually leave feedback, and I draft replies for you to approve. I never buy reviews or filter out unhappy customers, because both break Google's rules and can get a profile suspended.
Where it makes sense I also add a geo-targeted landing page to your site for each area you serve, built on the same principles as my website design work, so Google finds a page that matches the search as well as a profile.
How I track whether it is working
Average rank is misleading in local search, because you can be first on your own street and tenth two kilometres away. I use heatmap tracking in Localo, which checks your position at many points around your business, so you can see exactly where you are visible and where you are not. Alongside it I report profile views, searches, calls and direction requests from the profile itself, and the keywords behind them.
Most local clients see movement within 30 to 60 days, and competitive categories take longer. Nobody can honestly guarantee a position (more in the questions below), but you will always see the numbers.
Plans, and who this suits
Local SEO suits any business customers visit or phone: shops, clinics, studios, coaching centres, restaurants and home-service providers. I offer three monthly plans: Local Starter at ₹8,000 for one location, Local Pro at ₹18,000 for up to three locations, and Local Premium from ₹35,000 for four or more. The details are in the pricing section.
It pairs well with AI search visibility, because the same accurate listings and reviews help AI assistants describe you correctly, and with lead generation when you want the extra calls tracked as a pipeline. When you are ready, book a free discovery call.
